Private representation
Most people I see at Kent police stations use legal aid. That advice is free and not means-tested. Private instruction is for people who want me personally, or who don't qualify for legal aid for a particular attendance. I don't work for the police. Paying privately doesn't change whose side I'm on. It means you choose me, and I stay with you.
You get me personally
I prepare your case and attend the interview myself. You're not passed to whoever is on the duty rota.
That suits people who've chosen their own solicitor, or who want continuity from the first call through to the end of the investigation.
Preparation before the interview
I speak to you first, get disclosure from the officer where I can, and agree a plan before you sit down.
Sometimes a prepared written statement is the right call. I'll tell you if it is, and draft it with you.
Follow-through to court
If you're charged, I can stay with you at court when you instruct me privately, rather than handing the file on.
Legal aid at court is a different test. I'll explain that honestly before you decide.
What it costs
From £500 + VAT, plus disbursements, mileage and parking, for a straightforward voluntary interview in Kent; serious or complex matters quoted individually (fixed fee agreed up front).
If during the attendance it becomes clear legal aid applies, I'll explain switching so you don't pay unnecessarily.
Instruct me privately
Use the click-to-reveal number on the homepage or contact page, and say you want private instruction. Have the interview time, station and offence summary ready so I can conflict-check and quote the same day where possible.
Firms can also instruct me as agent on a private fee arrangement.
