My practice is deliberately narrow: police station representation and related advice. That focus lets me stay current on PACE, disclosure, and interview tactics across Kent. I don't work for the police. Whether you're arrested, on bail, or invited for a voluntary interview, you can have a solicitor free under legal aid when questioned under caution.
Custody representation
From booking-in to release or court, I protect your rights, challenge unlawful procedures where appropriate, and prepare you for interview.
I attend reviews with you, ensure consultation time, and speak to the custody sergeant about bail or RUI when the investigation ends at the station.
Voluntary interviews
Voluntary attendances at Maidstone, Tonbridge and other suites are still interviews under caution. I treat them with the same seriousness as custody.
People often think they can “clear things up” without a lawyer. That is when damaging admissions happen. I read disclosure first, then we decide how you respond.
Private instruction
Some clients prefer to pay a fixed fee rather than use legal aid. I quote before work starts and explain what private funding does and doesn't cover.
Private work doesn't buy a different standard of care. It buys choice of solicitor and sometimes faster continuity if the case goes to court.
Agent cover for firms
I cover for other criminal firms at police stations across Kent, with longer travel time for East Kent, so call early. You get a full typed attendance note as a PDF and a VAT invoice by email.
I'm a duty solicitor, not only an accredited rep, so I can handle more complex interviews and charging decisions at the station.
